As usual with ice skates, you must choose a shoe size one size larger. It fits well and is attractive. Good strong ankle for beginner skaters. The only real complaint is that the hooks on the top of the skateboard are a bit difficult to lace up. Hooks have the advantage that the laces do not slip out. You have to maneuver them in and out. If I had to guess what the first part of these skates would be, it would be the hooks. It's kind of a hard polymer, but I suspect they'll peel off the skate over time. So far we haven't had any problems after a few weeks of use.
