S2000 is great, S3000 is just okay

S3000 Update: I've found that I have difficulty getting the light to charge. Looking into the charge port it seems like the USB connector is almost too deep inside the flashlight for the USB to engage and charge (maybe something broke inside that allowed it to move?). When I do get it to charge, it is barely connected and the cable easily comes out. I wouldn't recommend the S3000, but the S2000 has been solid for me and I have several of them.S3000: 3 Stars, very good light, controls/design not greatOn the S3000, like the S2000 the light is very bright and the adjustable focus is excellent. When focusing the beam I can illuminate areas well over 100' away with no problem. My complaints are with the control and layout of the light. 1) The charge port and the power button are in the same position on the ring, just 180 degrees around from each other. It's easy to get it wrong when attempting to use the light by "feel". The charge port should be somewhere else. 2) The power button is a push-on, HOLD-off, where multiple momentary pushes cycle through the modes of the light (high, med, low, various flashing, etc.). I prefer to push-on/push-off. Holding the button for several seconds to turn it off is annoying.Other than that, the light feels solid in construction and I expect it will last a while.S2000: 5 Stars, Solid flashlight, reasonably pricedThey are bright, durable, and use standard AAA batteries. The beam is adjustable, allowing wide or narrow dispersion. Works great for me!

Pros
  • Really love how far it's beam goes.
Cons
  • The flashlight may not be as long-lasting as other models
