They are more powerful
This worked great for my application. I have a new single unit Wi-Fi Deco Mesh system in my garage. The outlet I need to plug it into is the same as the light switch. So I really couldn't use the typical 3 rows of 3 socket expanders because they were too wide. This worked great and gave me plenty of room for future expansion (plus 3 USBs). I liked being able to plug the new router upstairs (higher performance) where the cable would be less of a way.
