They are more powerful

This worked great for my application. I have a new single unit Wi-Fi Deco Mesh system in my garage. The outlet I need to plug it into is the same as the light switch. So I really couldn't use the typical 3 rows of 3 socket expanders because they were too wide. This worked great and gave me plenty of room for future expansion (plus 3 USBs). I liked being able to plug the new router upstairs (higher performance) where the cable would be less of a way.

Design helps look "tidy "

I like it because the USB ports are on the bottom. The last one I bought had the connectors at the top which meant all the cables were sticking out at the top and then dangling in all directions. It interferes with what is connected to ordinary electrical plugs. It's a beautiful, neat look. Not too blocky and doesn't protrude too far from the socket so it doesn't droop under the weight of everything plugged in. And not too bulky to fall under its own weight.

Great if you don't need a surge protector

This is an excellent outlet extender. It packs multiple outlets into a slim, lightweight package and fits perfectly in every outlet I've tried it on. Note, however, that there is no surge protector, which is a disadvantage in a home environment - you should always use a surge protector. when connecting sensitive/valuable electronics. The reason is that cruise ships are wired in such a way that a surge protector is not safe. At sea, the lack of surge protection is a feature, not an omission.

Useful for home and travel

The socket next to my bed currently powers a lamp, humidifier and USB chargers for my phone and tablet. I used an extension cord to fit everything and many more people. This handy little box has two grounded outlets, four ungrounded outlets and three USB ports - more than enough. I can also wear it on vacation as in some places there is only one outlet for two. There is always a risk of overloading when using extension cords or extension cords. I'd be wary of fully charging 110V AC outlets…
