07/31/18 I just spoke to the manufacturer about my license plate front cover cracking in the car wash, although it was washed a couple of times before it broke. The bottom 2 inches of this carbon fiber (CF) front cover came off immediately. They advertise that this plate is for the car wash. After all, it's from CF. It's safe if you "hand wash" it. If you take it to a soft-touch car wash or a washing machine with rollers that touch the car, the license plate cover will most likely bend or break. Remove the license plate and its cover before going to the brush wash. I was not offered a cover replacement even though they report 100% customer satisfaction. This CF license plate could have been made from a cheaper material as you would have to brush wash/roll the license plate off beforehand. The cover is so sensitive to everything except "hand wash car" as it is a beautiful CF license plate cover. Too bad they claim it's safe for the car wash.
