Purchased (2) Closed airflow type for inflating car tires. The "open" type is intended for use with tire changers that have a foot pedal to control airflow. Unfortunately I received a defective one. the hole in the brass for the pivot was drilled crookedly, causing the clip blade to tilt. Then the blade rubbed and dangled in the brass slot, and the clamping force was less than intended. I still love this item, the brass is very hard and the spring is stiff (and the second air liner is perfect). The problem, however, is that placing the pneumatic chuck on the valve stem at the correct distance (to ensure a good fit) requires an uncomfortable amount of force. A softer (or more deeply embedded) rubber ring inside the air liner might help.
