Good to have.: Tire cartridges

Neat product. Works well. I saw another product on Amazon advertised as thicker and more durable. But I think this size fits because some of the tire valve stems are short and with a fatter one you can hit the hubcaps if your car has them. I bought a port freight and it was designed with the trigger pointed at the valve and I couldn't fit it properly unless I removed the hubcaps which is inconvenient but it works much better.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons

Another happy customer (Open Flow)

I received 2 sets of the EPAuto Open Flow Straight Lock-On Air Chuck. I installed one of these on my Milton gauge air blower and it works as expected. I use it for car tires, RV tires and bike tires. This chuck lock is great as it frees your hands while inflating. I have a 5" extension hose on the inflator so when inflating big tires I don't have to keep my face straight if something goes wrong. I highly recommend this product to everyone!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Great price

Not quite "Open Stream "

This cartridge is designed for use with a tire valve where the stem of the stem is in place and severely restricts airflow. However, it is very easy to make it "open" by simply drilling it from back to front with a 7/16" drill bit. A 1/4" chisel might also work, but I haven't tried that. This will knock out the pin that's supposed to be pressing against the valve core and open the throttle. Of course, you'll need to attach it to a check valve to make it practical but you already knew that This…

Quick fit for new tires

I'm an old school mechanic and I still fit all my tires the way my dad and I did at his gas station in the 1960's. Shop, only hammers and crowbars lol! To place the beads on new tires you need rapid airflow into the tire, which is not possible with standard cartridges that require a valve core. With these cartridges you can remove the valve core and inflate the tire without restrictions. I install a Lowe's/Home Depot/etc. 1/4" NPT ball valve between this cartridge and the quick disconnect…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Discarded

Works great although most stems are a bit tight

I have several Air Chucks in my shop for different purposes. Open flow allows for much faster inflation, e.g. e.g. installing tire beads etc. As I repair cars and am retired I don't do this on a daily basis but at some point high flow or a coreless valve stem may be required. which these open stream versions require. They are comparable to others I have and appear to be of good quality. However, they are so tight on the stems of some valves that the difference is noticeable. High quality…

Good but one was defective

Purchased (2) Closed airflow type for inflating car tires. The "open" type is intended for use with tire changers that have a foot pedal to control airflow. Unfortunately I received a defective one. the hole in the brass for the pivot was drilled crookedly, causing the clip blade to tilt. Then the blade rubbed and dangled in the brass slot, and the clamping force was less than intended. I still love this item, the brass is very hard and the spring is stiff (and the second air liner is perfect).

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
