Review on πŸ”’ 4 Pack Large Square D-Ring Tie-Down Anchors: Heavy Duty Steel Cargo Tie-Downs for Trucks, Trailers, Flatbeds, and Pickups (Hardware Not Included) by Charlie Maadhadians

A solid block, but the unusual shape makes it difficult and tiring to install correctly.

They are durable and work well once installed. However, due to the very odd shape of the bottom, it is difficult to cut a suitable indentation for it. The bottom has a sharp slope from the end of the ring to the end of the loop, and the contour is difficult to handle due to the round shape under the ring and the elongated shape on the side of the loop. In itself this strange shape is not a problem, but the 4 screw holes are so close to the recess that there is almost no room for screws to fasten them in the wood. Additionally, the unusual shape combined with the close proximity of the bolt holes means that a simple round mounting hole will not work: either the mounting hole is too small for the anchor to fit properly, or the mounting hole is so large that it abuts the screw holes. Ultimately, you'll need to do a series of custom, near-precision woodwork to create a proper mounting hole. It took me almost an hour to install the first one in my trailer and they didn't get much faster after that. I recommend looking for another model that has an easier mounting form and more distance between the mounting hole and the screw holes.
