I've been wearing an engagement ring for 36 years and let's be honest I'm not as tall as I used to be. With arthritis progressing and fingers changing, I decided to have it removed. Double stripes of relatively thick gold. It works like a pair of tongs with a dustpan. You place the shovel under the ring and by gently squeezing the pliers you spin the wheel and its teeth cut a groove in the ring. I got someone else to spin the wheel (as of course I could only use one hand) and it took us about 4 minutes to cut both bands without separating them (my rings are interlocking). We then bent the rings wider to fit over my wrist. There's no reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating other than that it just worked as it should without much fanfare. never mind But gosh, it was nice to take that pressure off since these rings have been there for years.
