Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Enhance Precision with DEWALT DWE7402DI Dado Throatplate for 10-Inch Portable Table Saw by Danny Poulin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good but minor caveats

I have to admit I was disappointed at first when I found out it was made out of plastic. I guessed that from other reviews but still hoped it would be solid. Despite being plastic it seems quite strong, no less durable than the standard needle plate that came with the saw. A review found that the gap was too small for a skirting board to be used. It fitted perfectly with my max height dado stack (I didn't use it at that height, just inserted the needle plate before lowering it to the correct height. When I inserted it, it wobbled a bit, but the four adjustment screws In the end it leveled It seemed a bit silly to just do it like that but whether it's bad product design or my slowness is debatable, it's difficult to open it without a strong sharp knife and hoping you don't slip out and cut something important.Instructions are printed on the back of the card, which means if you want to keep it you'll have to cut open the entire packaging to get it out, making sure it's suitable for use with a 90 degree slot In other words, it's not designed for use with a beveled slot. Seriously, DeWalt? to dado and didn't even think I might stack the stack want to tilt something? Anger aside, it does what it says on the tin and seems to do it well.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • No instructions
