The plastic is too flexible to hold the workpiece securely.

Unfortunately, this insert's flexibility means it cannot withstand pressure without flexing, especially near the center of the neck. This crease changes greatly during cutting depending on what else the workpiece is carrying, giving you grooves of widely different depths. Its rear end, behind the screws, also tends to flex under pressure, which can cause your work piece to land on the edge of your neck, requiring a fairly nervous cut/return or burst of power to hit it. .Another review mentioned

Waste of money - poor quality

Conclusion You will buy this item because it is Dewalt and you expect it to fit your Dewalt table saw. Then buy another needle plate from another manufacturer to correct your mistake! It's made of very flexible plastic and is a piece of junk. It flexes a lot and doesn't properly support the workpiece as you work, resulting in very uneven cuts. I've tested this thing on a pry bar and tried changing the pressure etc to get good cuts but it was an unsuccessful effort. On large pieces where most of

DO NOT REPLACE Needle Plate

As some reviewers have pointed out, this is NOT a "REPLACEMENT" for the pivot needle plate. He doesn't just fit in. There is some cloth upholstery material under the table bed which interferes with this stitch plate but not the original. Dewalt actually leaves room for the original needle plate, making for a perfect fit. Two problems with this so-called OEM part. 1) it is made of plastic while the original is made of cast aluminum; 2) The underside of the plastic needle plate needs to beโ€ฆ

Surprisingly Bad Best in Saw Blades Parts & Accessories

I bought this quickly based on the overall reviews without reading some of the best ones first. I'm actually really surprised that so many people gave good reviews for it since it's so awful. - It's thin plastic. Depending on where you apply downward pressure while cutting, your grooves will be deeper or shallower than intended as this needle plate flexes up and down. In fact, it is not suitable for the specified saws. As others have pointed out, the notch on the side is much smaller than theโ€ฆ

Good but minor caveats

I have to admit I was disappointed at first when I found out it was made out of plastic. I guessed that from other reviews but still hoped it would be solid. Despite being plastic it seems quite strong, no less durable than the standard needle plate that came with the saw. A review found that the gap was too small for a skirting board to be used. It fitted perfectly with my max height dado stack (I didn't use it at that height, just inserted the needle plate before lowering it to the correctโ€ฆ

Complete garbage. - Saw Blades, Parts & Accessories

I was wondering why all my cleats are bent about 1/16" which is a lot when it comes to cleats going in grooves - all my cleats were either loose or slightly too big, but I measured correctly. Well, while trying to solve this puzzle, I noticed that this piece of plastic junk buckled under pressure. I mean right? It's just outrageous for a part like this - you don't want anything bent on the table saw! What was DeWalt thinking? Which VP got a bonus for discovering how many cents a company canโ€ฆ
