Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Efficiently Handle Bike Chain Links with Park Tool's MLP-1.2 Master Link Pliers by Jason Lockwood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The right tool for the right job

I have a KMC chain with a KMC "missing link". I've taken to waxing the chain with paraffin and PTFE powder (absolutely clean and amazing) so I need to be able to put the chain on and off regularly. I've been told that Connex Master Links are the best because they can lock and unlock without tools. But many bike shops have also warned me against mixing one brand of chain with another brand from Master Links as it can lead to breakage and accidents. I don't know if that's true or not, but I don't want to find out. I noticed that the Connex master links are longer than the KMC 'missing link' and the links in the chain. I don't know if it matters, but my instinct is not to mess with it. Hence the need for this parking tool. You can lock and unlock the missing KMC link with your hands, but it's absolutely annoying. KMC makes two different tools, one for unlocking and one for locking. It's a bit crazy when you can buy this park tool for less than two KMC tools instead, and. IT WORKS GREAT for both blocking and unblocking the main link. So if you have any brand of main link chain other than Connex (where you don't need tools) this is the tool to go for. It is mature, durable and, as I said, runs smoothly and perfectly. Feel free to buy it.
