Review on Sovol Filament Materials - Enhancing Dimensional Tightness by Chris Munns

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Black and white are the hardest colors for print quality. These Sovol coils are no different.

For some reason the pigments or additives used in the very opaque white and black yarn make these colors problematic for all brands. White tends to result in uneven extrusion throughout the print, so the vertical walls are quite uneven as the quality of each layer is different. Blacks printed slightly better for me but still felt a bit more brittle than usual. When I switched to printing these filaments through the larger 0.8mm nozzle, I had much better results, consistent with the theory that the material contains particulate additives. Filament that is difficult to feed through a nozzle with a diameter of 0.4 mm.
