A while back I bought a 2-port KVM with a StarTech Mini display. He worked poorly and died a few months later. So I didn't want to buy another one from the same company but this one works well so far. I'm using a Dell USB-C dock and Linux says the monitor is running at 4k 30Hz. My Linux desktop reports 4k 60Hz. There are no display artifacts. The shortcut to switch the computer using the keyboard works. Buyers should be aware that, particularly with KVM between the computer and monitor, the cables you use may or may not affect a setup. Buy good cables as short as possible. The cable between the KVM and my monitor is only 2 feet long.
