Reluctantly, I returned to the windshield suction cup. The main reason was to maintain stability in a market where air vents and CD holders are weak. The "long arm" with extension is fantastic and the glossy design suits a variety of windshields and a variety of vision conditions. However, when I attached the mug to the windshield, it gave a little. By that I mean that the holder was not completely sucked on itself. This meant that every impact my truck felt shook the keeper to an unacceptable degree. The hand moves over bumps in the road, and the phone (in the specified mount) shakes too much. It might be reliable for people who don't care, but I've searched endlessly for a phone holder (windshield, air vent, or CD) that won't bounce off the harsh ride my truck puts on, at least not as much. The suction is solid and the retractable arms are just what I wanted. More options for the visually impaired mean perfection. I just didn't like how much my hand bounced off the "noise" of the road. I deducted a star for that. If the hand could fit completely onto the cup without much play - I'd be in business. Otherwise I like the design very much. Expandable (front to back) faces forward.
