Review on Set of 2 Tuff Support Front Hood Lift Supports for 2010-2015 Lexus Rx350 & Rx450H (Canadian Model) by Fahmi Manna

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good product. My procedures for removing and installing the lifting support are also ideally suited.

This fits my 2011 Lexus RX 350 well. Installation was fairly easy although removing the old elevator strut was a minor hassle. I need to remove the wiring harness to easily access the underside of the lift support and use a flathead screwdriver to remove it from the mounting screw. be surprised. The lower part of the lift support could rotate easily in any direction. Below is my lifting platform installation procedure for your reference: My old lifting support was factory. For your information.1. Use a long pole (metal or wood) strong enough to hold the hood open.2. Remove the plastic strap to easily access the underside of the current lift leg with a flat head screwdriver (the plastic strap needs to be pulled outwards and you don't need to remove the rubber pad. I removed the rubber pad just so I could put in some rubber care on it) 3. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry up and remove the bottom of the mounting screw. I positioned the flathead screwdriver horizontally so the edge of the screwdriver could fit into the small slot in the bracket. With a little effort to pry the bracket out, I move the lift bracket left and right to remove it. Be careful as the hood may fall off as there is now a lot of pressure on what you used to be holding. So you can position this lift prop on the car's metal body to keep the hood open.4. Do the same for the other side.5. Slide the two new lift legs (not left or right, so it doesn't matter which is which side) over the bottom mounting bolt until it snaps into place. It should snap easily if something is wrong with your mounting bolt or new jack stands. Now use a flat head screwdriver to do the same to remove the old jack support from the top mounting screw. They came off quite easily.7. Once you have completely removed the lift leg from one side, you can snap the new lift leg (with the bottom piece already attached to the mounting bolt) onto the top mounting bolt. Now your hood can stay open and you can safely repeat the same process on the other side without any effort.
