Review on TOOLIOM Welder Voltage Welding Machine by Eric Speers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Honest manufacturer opinion

I bought this machine new. I personally own and use several high end welders from Miller, Htp, Lincoln and Everlast. I have worked with the best welding equipment. Most of these devices cost several thousand dollars. Lately I've been on a mission to see how well a budget piece of hardware does the job. This is the second car I bought in this quest. The first of these was a sub $300 plasma cutter (Aimco Power Cut-50). I was blown away by how well this worked and was surprised to see over 250 reviews for this product with an average rating of 4.5 stars. Now I have to put this review into perspective before going into detail about my experience. I have been welding for over 20 years, I know a lot about welding and many of the variables that challenge a beginner or novice. Welding is a detail-oriented job that can sometimes challenge the best of us. Most of the time everything works as it should, but sometimes when it doesn't work it can be frustrating to understand the problem. Now in my experience this machine is very powerful for what it's worth, I'll just look at the migration features. If you want to weld up to 1/4 inch in one go, it's easy. All of my welds were done with C-25 shielding gas, which would require purchasing a regulator and shielding gas bottle. This machine comes with gas hose only and only welds in flux core mode by default without buying anything else. Welding wire is also not included. Setting up the machine is easy, but still difficult. For a beginner, there may be some frustration in understanding how it works. Mine came in 4t mode. In 4t mode, the first time you pull the trigger, it starts wire feeding, it continues to wire feed until you pull the trigger release and then press and release This is useful for long welds, but this feature is not common on most small welders. It's good when you know what you're doing. Most people are used to the 2t mode, as long as you hold the trigger the wire will feed, as soon as you release the trigger it will stop. You need to know what good welding conditions are. We recruit every welder. For my project, I welded 3" x 3" 1/4" flashing, doing mostly fillet welds, and it took me about a minute to really approximate the gas, voltage, and wire speed settings. The machine had a very stable arc and i was able to put down a near perfect bead like it says in the text book honestly i was shocked i asked my colleague to try it he laughed and said this thing welds better than the lincoln welder that we have in our shop. It will not reach the thickness capabilities of this machine. I find the arc better and more stable because of the inverter technology. For a beginner, I see this machine frustrating at times. It's not as easy as Miller or Everlast with a professional range of functions With the Pro-Set functions you can quickly make settings depending on the thickness of the material to be welded and the diameter hknife of the wire obtained with a specific gas. For a beginner, this will help you navigate through the initial setup more quickly. However, these machines cost at least 5 times more than these s. Pros: cost, light weight, multi-voltage (at 110V the power is reduced), good stable arc, decent flash Cons: tricky setup for a beginner, also be careful with that Drive roller grip, I dropped mine and it rolled into the car behind the drive motor. I had to take the front of the car apart to get it back. No regulator (not critical), ground clamp is pretty cheap, cable is adequate, but do yourself a favor and spend $10 on a better one. Finally, of course, the guarantee is not the length of the guarantee, but the gold standard is 5 years for high-quality welding equipment. I certainly don't expect that for the price of this product. As such, it's a decent little welder if you need something cheap for workshop repairs. Kind of work, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. I can't say how long it will last, but for less than $300 you really can't go wrong. My goal with this little experiment was to test the capabilities of a cheap machine, and I was able to get results similar to what I usually get with much more expensive machines. As always, results depend on experience and I expect some people will end up with a car that might struggle. I was good at handling electronics, some maybe not. For me this machine will be the machine I will use for lighter jobs on site and I think it will be perfect for that.
