Trying to keep a crystal clear goldfish tank was a challenge in my slightly oversaturated tank despite maintaining NO3 and NO2 at high normal levels. I do a complete water change every month and have tried different filter materials and activated carbon based products. I decided to try this in my Tetra HOB filter. I placed the stones in the open spaces of the plastic biofilter. You could see the transparency of the water improving day by day until the water became clear.
