I will not lie. I bought it on a whim to see how it compares to its Monoprice counterpart and to be honest I'm not impressed. Of course it works in a simple configuration where it is enough to swap the TX/RX pins, but as another reviewer pointed out, pins 1 and 9 are connected directly, not 4 and 6 (opposite side) and correspondingly Cut. Will it matter in most applications? Probably not, but me? I'd rather just "buy once, cry once". Thumbscrews may also fool you, but unfortunately they are not. In fact, the thread length is barely enough to screw in 4-40 female racks. Sometimes, folks, one stupid millimeter can change everything in the world. my honest opinion? Heed other reviewers' warnings and buy Monoprice 101137 instead and get in the habit of pulling out your "tweaker" every time you need to install and uninstall it. Ironically, the above alternative is about 80 cents cheaper than StarTech's offering. Find out. 9_9Three stars. Mech.Pinout for the particularly curious: 1 -> 12 -> 33 -> 24 -> 65 -> 56 -> 47 -> 88 -> 79 -> 9
