Review on Upgraded Press Fit 30 to Outboard Bottom Bracket with Superior ABEC 3 Bearings for Enhanced Performance by Mike Barnes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Mounting to the frame was easy, cranks fit perfectly

This is my first bottom bracket brace which I was hesitant at first as I needed some sort of converter for my PF30 BB frame to work with one Shimano 6800 crankset. Found this BB at a very reasonable price, it was easy to put on the frame, the crankset fitted perfectly. Have tried a few hundred kilometers so far, nothing creaks, runs as quietly as I would like, smooth and looks very good. Here are some summaries of the part: 1. Installed with a small tool, the drive side cup is hand pressed in (some frames may require a press tool as frame builders have different specs, mine is Masi), the other cup is bolted on and 2 Shimano -Tools are used 16 BB cutouts, one to hold and one to tighten to the specified torque.2. Don't forget to provide bearing seals for each shell, spacers come in different gauges, use as needed, I don't need them.3. Lubrication is also taken care of, how practical! Definitely buy it again for your next bike project.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
