The Laser Disc Player outputs a video signal that is now considered obsolete. Aspect ratio and resolution of old televisions. My new A/V switcher/amplifier/FM receiver couldn't handle it. The company said I would have to feed it directly to the TV (which defeats the purpose of an A/V device). So I bought this device, connected everything and set it up. I was concerned about the handshake for HDMI, but I was aware of this issue from previous reviews. After just a few tries on the audio/video device, everything worked! I don't know if I will use the 2nd set of inputs because switching would be awkward. I am planning another device to connect two sets of inputs to this device as the other device has a remote control switch! While not as versatile as I would like, it was more than just an A/V device. The company that made it even said it wasn't recommended, but it works!
