I have a couple of basic moisture meters and another fully functional one. Switch on, chop wood, check. Move. Repetition. So I took some wood samples. I checked the humidity with other devices. They were within 1% of each other. I used this counter - the difference was almost 15%. every time So I tested it on the calibration sensors in the header. Wow, not even close - 18% reading 22%, 26% reading 29%. The manual says the device can be calibrated in CAL mode and tells you how to get into CAL mode. But that's all. There are no instructions for the actual calibration. I have a meter with a set screw - no, not here. The other uses the control panel. I tried. I get a "bAd" error message or I turn off the device. So pens are useless to me. The thermometer deviates by 8 degrees. The relative humidity has been reduced by at least 40%. I am currently in a room with a relative humidity of 18% and a temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Close. So if there's no way to calibrate it by the user, it's a paperweight.
