Review on Moen 145058 Replacement Converts Standard by Seth Bushey

Lots of people need some square graduation mods - good product

This adapter will help but may need to be modified depending on what you are doing. I've read other reviews where users had issues - if you're a DIY enthusiast a few mods will get it working. I have a regular old Moen valve and wanted a nicer updated Moentrol finish. I randomly picked a square tier that requires mods to mount directly to the wall. This adapter works well for a round echelon (large decorative panel) - did this in the downstairs bathroom. My master bathroom had a square tier and I had to rotate the adapter to actually line things up on the wall. I found that I had to drill one of the mounting holes on the adapter (it's easy to make out of soft brass) to get the required rotation. I would also like to warn you that when I was doing this one of the four mounting holes or flanges at the cost then interfered with the screw from staggering through the back of the adapter. I just drilled that unnecessary flange/hole to the value. Everything works great. It took a bit of work and understanding of what needed to be done, but now it's another 10+ years, maybe more. I will also note that I have seen other posts stating that the new adapter's mounting holes were the wrong distance apart. I didn't find this problem when I lined them up in my hands. However, if you followed the description above, when I was trying to mount things in front of mods, one value interfaces gave me the impression that the screws had to be at an angle (wrongly spaced) in order to screw in. The adapter would not work. But considering what actually happened, the screws got in the way of other things "in the wall," like costs. Given the above mods, everything is convenient/safe and ready to go.
