I've worn a Bell helmet for a long time. Their new MIPS helmets are lightweight, reasonably comfortable, and well ventilated, but I had some durability issues with their wraparound fit system. First, the gum they apply to the dial degrades relatively quickly, becomes sticky, and falls off. The wheel still works but the gum is not worth the cost of applying it. A one-piece wheel used on less expensive helmets will work well. Worse still, the adjustment system can be over adjusted so that the ends of the part surrounding the head come out of the adjustment device. And you can't just push them back, the ratchet won't catch them. All of this needs to be taken apart before you can put it back in. The block consists of three plastic parts pressed together. I was lucky, I took them apart, tucked the ends back in and put them back together without breaking, but chances of something breaking are high. If you break it, you'll toss your expensive helmet in the trash and look for something that shouldn't have fallen apart in the first place. Still... yes... I bought another one. That's a good helmet. You just have to know that his fictional system is "thin".
