Review on ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ AirLink Professional Quality by Davis Instruments by Mike Bogan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good sensor but the rest is wrong

It is difficult to give a single rating for such a device as there are multiple factors including sensor hardware, other hardware and software. The most important factor is the "Professional Grade" sensor technology. (Without this, nothing else would matter.) The rest of the hardware (hardware other than the sensor) and software can still be improved. The first problem is the power cord. This is a USB2 connector with a USB to female adapter. Both the plug and adapter are huge for a device like this, sticking out about 3.75 inches from the socket. Because they are designed for outdoor installation, they must be plugged into an external power outlet. "The plug is too big to fit into a standard sized weatherproof socket cover. I had to replace the standard cover with an "extra deep". You have to manually reconnect it to your WiFi network. The third annoyance is the iOS App: It doesn't offer a widget, which would be really good to be able to see the air quality at a glance, and it also doesn't allow you to create multiple accounts where multiple members of the same family could log in with their own accounts.

Pros
