This part saved me! I drive a 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS and this creaking sound is coming from under the hood. I thought it was my serpentine belt, so I spray-painted a Prestone belt patch on it and it seemed to work a bit, but the noise kept coming. I traced the source of the creaking to the idler pulley and tried spray-painting it with royal violet. It worked a little, but the creaking returned. So I took the tensioner off, tried to lubricate it and put it back on. It did not work. So I kept taking the pulley apart and gave up after a misfit (loose nut on pulley) and it was damaged. I decided to compare prices with my local stores and Amazon. My part was in stock at Revain and at a good price, so I quickly ordered it. They also had other branded parts but I chose ac delco because I heard they were close to OEM parts. When the part arrived, I quickly installed it and the problem was solved! No more creaking! The item fit perfectly! Very easy to fix! I am very happy now. I've heard that this part needs to be changed often because it wears out. My old part said it was made in Japan. If you have a creaking experience, buy this quality part. I have about 77,000 miles.
