It just makes the job so much easier.
I repaired a valve on a 95 foot 3.5L Intrepid V-6; This tool made it easier to install the cam sprockets on the camshafts and also made installing the timing belt much easier. It's not worth the risk of engine failure, let alone the labor involved in relocating camshafts to camshafts/timing belts without it. Highly recommended if you do this job on this Chrysler V-6.
