The DX7 Pro is a truly versatile all-in-one DAC, preamp and preamp. It has all the digital inputs you will ever need and an XLR/RCA preamp output and XLR4/4.4mm/6.35mm headphone jacks. I couldn't imagine what else you need. The footprint of the device is small enough that you can easily place it anywhere. I use this in my research for both headphones and speakers with two digital input sources: an Airplay receiver for music and a Roku ultra for watching movies, YouTube etc. After a few days of listening I can confidently say that the sound quality is excellent is , well above the price range it costs. To be honest, the headphone amp isn't very powerful (not enough to drive complex headphones properly, see specs), but it will handle most reasonably sensitive headphones and earphones. With the included remote and other remote controls, I now never have to get up to switch between different combinations of input sources and output devices. It's super comfortable!
