Review on πŸš— AutoSock 697 Tire Chain Alternative: Ultimate Winter Traction Solution by Matthew Maxwell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great in winter!

After reading reviews and speaking to a local tire shop I decided to give it a try. Tire shop charged $130, got Revain finishes for $80. I drive a 2012 Camaro V6, rear. I bought them on 11/16/19 in preparation for the winter season in Granite Falls, WA. During the week from 1.20 p.m. to 1.15 a.m. .20 We had quite a bit of snow. They worked great! 1. During this time I drove about 50 km with it. They have signs of wear but are still usable. I haven't driven (or tried my best) to go faster than 35 mph. Although I drove a few stretches on clean roads. 2. Although they are relatively easy to turn on and off, it would be CONVENIENT to turn them on and off every few miles when the road is cleared. I definitely needed them to get out of my neighborhood and some of the alleyways.3. If you pretend to ride a rag (because you are!), I'm sure you'll make them last longer. That means no quick braking or quick acceleration that can put undue stress on the material and potentially lead to product failure, and my car can accelerate at a good speed.4. Overall I am very happy with the product, you will NOT need them for the front tires (unless you have front wheel drive), only buy one set ie TWO (one for each drive tyre)5. The photo was taken after about 50 miles of service, of which about 20 miles were on clean tarmac as they didn't have to be changed every few miles due to patches of heavy snow in the area.
