Review on AMD Processor Wraith Cooler YD1700BBAEBOX by Wiktor Wiater ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is good, there are only a few minor flaws.

In terms of gaming, AMD is more even, without jumps or microfreezes, while Intel dances up and down. In my perspective, this balances out the lower average frame rate. The 7700k has no chance in anything else, both in terms of pure performance and the price of a processor, motherboard, and cooler kit. In other words, the R7 Ryzen processor acts like two quad-cores with eight threads each because it is intended as two CCXs. A 22 GB/s communication backbone called Infinity Fabric connects these two complexes. The 175 GB/s broad L3 cache allows the cores to communicate with one another inside the complex. Therefore, communication between cores 0-3 or 4-7 is not a problem, but when core 3 requests data from core 4, it does so across a significantly slower Infinity Fabric. When moving processes and their data from one CCX to another, the Windows 10 scheduler runs them from thread to thread since it is unable to notice this issue. There is no bug in Windows, according to AMD colleagues; therefore, there is no need to wait for a fix. While there is no performance hit and the process does not occupy half the CPU, you may manually force it to use only one CCX by using Process Lasso. A similar issue was rapidly resolved in Linux, and the scheduler there is aware of the processor's peculiarities. By the way, they still have the same two CCXs on the approach of R5 and R3 (6c/12t, 4c/8t, and 4c/4t models), not one 4c/8t from R7 as common logic would imply. So there is no avoiding the fact that this is a characteristic of architecture. What changed between 1700 and 1800?Voltage is being overclocked at 1800x, not potential. The 1800x will overclock by 300 MHz greater than the majority of processors, but at a considerably lower voltage, which reduces heat and power consumption. The price in 2022 is abhorrent. Along with the Asus B350M-A motherboard that I got from Germany, 27000 came out with delivery; here, one CPU costs 26600.

Pros
  • 8c16t, Outstanding multi-threaded performance comparable to the i7-6900k (RUB 75,000) ratio of cost to performance, All Zen-based processors will share a single socket, and active support is guaranteed for at least four years. It will almost surely overclock to 3.7 GHz on the stock cooler (which is RGB!1), and with any hope, up to 4-4.1 GHz and temperatures of up to 70 degrees. Excellent voltage drop potential: at stock frequencies, less than 1 volt. The processor operates more quickly the higher the RAM frequency, which is closely related to Infinity Fabric. Compared to the popular kaby lake, there are virtually no microfreezes and a significantly higher minimum FPS in games. AMD FineWine™.
Cons
  • Currently, it is difficult to run RAM at a frequency higher than 2666 MHz because most boards forbid it, or you must manually experiment with timings and frequencies until you find one that works. Only 2933 MHz pulls, not 3000. It is anticipated that a remedy will be made soon. Yes, Ryzen IPC is roughly 8-10% lower than Kaby Lake in games that run at 5-8% fewer frames per second than 7700k. CCX. There is a significant delay and, as a result, a performance decrease of up to 25% when the cores must communicate between two CCXs as opposed to one CCX. look at remark. The price in 2022 constitutes a financial crime.
