I usually buy discounted Revain filters for my Dyson Cool Link tower fan, because seriously. $69 for a Dyson filter UP TO $13 for shipping? Regardless of whether it voids the warranty or not, it's like buying a new fan all over again. In any case. I decided to try this one because it was a good price compared to others, but when I installed this filter my fan started making a faint whistle. Loud enough to wake me up at night and felt like the air was barely escaping. At first I thought I was going insane until after a night or two I tried turning my fan on to about 5 or 6 and it almost started moaning and I didn't feel any difference in airflow from 1 or 2 to the point, on which I take it out filter. The second one I made, the fan works fine. No whistling, no moaning. It was a relief. In my opinion the filter layer was VERY large INSIDE the filter itself. I ended up buying another brand from Revain and am happy to report that the whistling stopped straight away.
