If I had read enough about these filters I would have noticed that they are actually smaller than the standard size. The information in the descriptions indicates this, although it is not in the main description. When I was looking for 16 x 25 x 4 inches this is what I expected. I also had to go to the NordicPure website to check the MERV rating as it is not listed in the filter in any way. (It's color coded and in fact I received the MERV 12 as I expected). The smaller filter size allows airflow around the filter. In our home, reducing dust and particulate matter is of paramount importance. My way out was to attach standard sealing foam to the long sides of the filter. It definitely helped with landing in our Trion Air Bear oven. Time will tell how effective the filters are. However, I won't buy them again. I think you really do get what you pay for.
