This is the first glass pen I've ever bought, although I've seen it for sale in many places for a number of years. I have some experience with fountain pens and inks for pen drawing and calligraphy and have been wanting to try one for a long time. I chose this one because I liked the slim body profile, as opposed to the often domed knobs you see on many glass dip knobs. It "scratches" a little more than I expected. Although I considered polishing the tip myself, I instead opted to have it self-polished for a period of time during use. I definitely recommend this glass pen to others who want to buy it.
