Works well but is cheaply made
It works. If you have a modern laptop with USB-C and need a CD drive, this will work. It only works with regular size CDs, not CDs. My only conclusion is that it's pretty cheaply made. The case is made of thin plastic, the edges are rough. It works, but it looks better in the photo than in real. I would suggest this is probably better for casual use than heavy use in a laptop bag.
