It works. If you have a modern laptop with USB-C and need a CD drive, this will work. It only works with regular size CDs, not CDs. My only conclusion is that it's pretty cheaply made. The case is made of thin plastic, the edges are rough. It works, but it looks better in the photo than in real. I would suggest this is probably better for casual use than heavy use in a laptop bag.

I recently upgraded to a 2020 27" iMac which of course no longer comes with an optical/CD/DVD drive. I rarely need it, but sometimes I need to burn CDs or extract sound clips from DVD sound libraries to create music. This drive plugs directly into your USB-C port and works flawlessly with your Mac. No complaints at all; highly recommended!

Great idea. Good design. Most of time. It has a captive cable so if it ever fails the device is useless. The biggest problem I had was that it couldn't read CDs. I gave him two industrial CDs and he hasn't read any of them. He sat there for a while and made noises. Then he spat out the disc. Oh, and there's no eject button. Lots of reasons to give up and look for something else.

This is a very basic DVD burner. It comes with a detachable USB-C cable and the case looks like it's been shaken up a lot as it's very cheaply made. Don't buy this for looks.

Instructions do not match product but who needs instructions? There is no eject button as stated in the instructions. There is no manual extraction mechanism in case of error. The cable is permanently fixed, crooked, so if it gets damaged, so be it. The case is made of thin plastic and only vaguely resembles the image in the advertisement. Works great, easy to use and lightweight. It doesn't look like it will be very durable considering it's plastic. But it's affordable and works well for me.
