Very strong, flat against the wall for mounting
Used my nail finder, marked where I wanted and drilled a hole. I screwed it in, used a spirit level to mark the second plumb hole, and drilled that hole. With two long screws (included) in 2x4, this hook holds my 36 lb Little Giant ladder with no problem. I went ahead and marked, drilled and installed a second hook, but one of them can easily support 36 pounds.
