Must have metalworking tool to complete!

After what seemed like an easy enough replacement to a broken mortise latch, this install was anything but simple. It took referencing reviews AND YouTube to figure out it was time to get the Dremel out. The main problem, the ONLY problem, is the interior latch mechanism. Simply stated, it's one-size-fits-all approach is anything but. You MUST be able to cut metal in order for this to work. The interior latch had to be cut and sanded in order to fit into the mortise lock. I ended up taking off about a quarter inch, then tapered the ends to fit inside the exterior counterpart. Took about 2 hours to unbox, fail a few times, then overcome the challenge. I am just an average 30-something homeowner with no background in this kind of stuff. That being said, it works fine. Worth the $7 upcharge for an external locking option.
