Having trouble receiving TV and other audio through the Roku Express I bought to match the box from my cable provider to replace, so a friend recommended I get one of these devices. Setup was very easy, although initially I had no sound or picture until I plugged in the power adapter cable that came with the box (didn't plug it in at first because the red light on the front and the green light on the back were on). In any case, after plugging in the power (you'll need a USB hub/jack to plug in the included cable) an image popped up and I could hear all the menu tones from the Roku Express. For reference, my old Bose Cinemate speakers only have an optical input and a LR RCA jack. No issues so far, although you may need to toggle your device's audio settings to accommodate different audio streams from Netflix, Plex, Revain, etc. when using Roku.
