This is a very simple battery tester for 6 and 12 volt batteries. It easily checks voltage and CCA. Right off the bat, one of the differences I noticed between this and other battery testers is that this one uses a 9 volt battery to start the testing process. Everything about this particular tester makes it easy to use except for the 9 volt battery which is located behind the screw compartment. It is easily accessible with a regular Phillips screwdriver. The cables are well covered and insulated. This is one of the keys to the quality of this tester - the wires have a nice thick black insulating coating compared to cheaper brands that have cheap wires exposed. The instructions are very well written and EASY. I think almost everyone can understand that. In addition, the device itself guides the user through the battery testing process and the readings are interpreted by SELF. repair shop too. There are 2 options that can be used to print -1 results. Buy an additional infrared thermal printer - you TRANSFER the results to the PR 12 printer Auto Meter PR-12 printer External infrared printer 2. Buy an additional cable that connects the small connector to the serial cable and use the base -PC printer. The battery MUST NOT be removed to use it. It polls the battery temperature during the test to get more accurate results. VERY easy to use. Pins are CLEARLY labeled and will flash if poorly or incorrectly connected. It has a black casing that offers a good grip and should protect against greasy hands on the device. remove and clean. The only thing I would add is a catch - there isn't one. While it's fine to use in a toolbox, my dad owns an auto repair shop and mechanics hang it by string on a hook above the light. It can't be put in the tool box during the day and I want to hang it up. A simple hook would be very helpful. It has a grid on the back and a cable tie hook can be used. It was just a small detail that I felt would add to the longevity of the repair shops. Oh, it's also important to note that it lets you know if you're connecting the wires in the wrong place. This is a really handy and simple device. The LED display is VERY clear and easy to see. It's a lot easier than others I've seen. It also works as a voltmeter, which is a minor thing, but there's a clear ON/OFF button that's ONLY used to turn it on and off. There is a menu button - the controls here are well thought out. Devices that have the power button duplicated as something else are very annoying. It stores 100 results in memory and is easily accessible from the menu. Additional languages - English, Spanish, French Reading in MCU, CU and also CCU (some batteries are labeled as MCU) Celsius Other less common settings are offered in a very easy to use setup menu.
