I've been a computer engineer since day one (okay, in high school, but who counts?). If not, I would definitely ask for a refund on this device. I hesitated between 3 and 4 stars because the device actually works very well, but this installation procedure was. painful. I hope this helps you get started. The included CD has an installer that took a good half hour and didn't work. It said it completed successfully but didn't give me an interface to the device. My computer (Windows 7, x64) noticed the device was plugged in but said it didn't install properly. This condition persisted even after the recommended reboot (which is usually not really needed). I went to the Broadcom website, followed the instructions in the package that came with it, and downloaded their version of the installer. Your site doesn't seem to work on Chrome, so Firefox is required. I wasn't expecting the browser change to work, it was just one thing I needed to check off my to-do list before I gave up. It worked. I downloaded the Broadcom installer. It looked a little different, but it took just as long to get the job done. [Increasing frustration] Eventually I went back to the Kinivo support site and downloaded the same software that was on the CD. This finally worked for reasons I can't explain. We're already past the point where a normal person would (should have?) just give it back. At this point I put "challenge accepted" on my computer nerd. The installation procedure was one of the most painful I have experienced in my 20+ years of working with computers. But, paradoxically, once properly installed, the device works perfectly. A few notes for those who follow it: * This installer takes a long time to do its job. Do something else while it's running. In defense of Kinivo, they warn you that it will take a long time. Also, the software was written by Broadcom, so I can't fault Kinivo for that. More specifically, it's a download link - the rest of the page loads just fine, you just can't download anything. * Save time and just download the installer here: [.]. I don't know why the CD version failed, maybe it's a different version of the software? No idea. This is the one that finally worked for me.
