The device works fine EXCEPT if you use routes regularly. Regardless of how route markers are displayed in mapping software, they appear as large blue flags on Garmin handhelds (including Montana). Blue flags block many chart details, including waypoint identification numbers. The photo was taken from base camp using the same blue flag symbol and map as Montana. The photo shows the blocking effect of large blue flags. The flag sign cannot be changed. You can't select a smaller, less intrusive character on the PDA. The Garmin forums have been asking about this change for years with no response from Garmin. If you are not using routes, you can select the icon of your choice.
