I bought these stairs to put on my disabled sister's stairs to protect her after she died a few months ago fell down the stairs and broke his wrist. I cleaned the steps, put duct tape in place, and started hammering in the nails with plastic spikes. Half of the plastic covers broke off and the nails were bent. Even with the nail part inserted, the splints slid enough that I was able to take them off and put them back in the box to put them back in. I didn't feel like they were safe for my sister.
