Ideal for paper straws. do not use for carbonated drinks

I have straws for drinking straws. the "eco-friendly" part is secondary and takes a back seat when the straws don't serve their primary purpose. Below are the results of my testing of the 500 unit Gold Mix variant. I tested them in cold (warm) water and they stayed functional longer than anyone should be using a disposable straw (several days). They flavored the water about the same way a paper cup would, which doesn't bother me. One of the straws contained a piece of paper that fell out while drinking. the nature of the animal, I suppose. I tested them with hot chocolate (with milk) and they lasted great for an hour. I used a straw to stir and it didn't kink. I couldn't find any dissolution from the mascara either. Tried with soda, not recommended. Straws are already doing weird things with soda, increasing Fiz (more surface area), and paper upping that effect to 11 - when it hit my mouth it was almost foam. I don't use baking soda straws at home so these are minor things for me. I was thinking "food safe ink" so I lit some straws. The gold lasts quite a while while the paper burns, but doesn't curl like plastic (good). I scraped the beam into gold powder and tried to set it on fire, but it didn't burn. My guess is that the ink is some kind of metal based mix. which is a reasonable choice for this use. For a paper straw, they're great. As for a straw in general use, I'm not sure yet. Most people use straws for fizzy drinks, so they're not very useful for catering, but they work well for coffee or water.

Pros
  • WIDE USE
Cons
  • Big and bulky
