Serious modification required to work with other manufacturers valves

Pros - inexpensive, can be modified to work, support emailed me and tried to solve my problem, seems they have several Valve adapter kits some other uses Cons - Only works with SUPs with Halkey-Roberts valves like valves (0.93" valve length and 0.785" diameter) The description never lists the name of the valve adapter (you can tell from the photo that it is an adapter type HR ) The supplied Halkey-Roberts valve is glued on so you have to sacrifice it to swap the adapters (they may have a hose with an adapter that is not glued but you will need to have this checked with support ). Leafield C7/D7 valves found on NRS and some other SUPs. To modify a Leafield C7/D7 valve, use a hacksaw to cut the supplied HR valve (Photo 1), attach a zip tie to the remaining existing hose (this is important before installing the new valve) and use an Xacto knife for cutting the "comb" of the Leafield C7 valve/D7 which you can get from NRS for $10.40 shipping (Photo 2/3) The C7/D7 is very heavy (impossible) in to fit the hose unless you cut the crest. Clean the Leafield plug and the inside of the supplied hose with isopropyl alcohol and lubricate the remaining Leafield adapter plug dry with plenty of seawater silicone sealant (Photo 4). Insert the PLUG FULLY into the hose that comes with the SLPUMP10, it's tight = Wipe off excess sealant well, lift the yoke hose clamp TO ALL SIDES for maximum contact (Photo 5) and tighten the Tighten hose clamp tightly (do not tighten or you may deform the new adapter and cause leakage) wait 6-24 hours for marine sealant to cure. I got the original Leafield C7/D7 adapter from the hand pump that came with my NRS SUPs. I need a replacement C7/D7 to get the hand pump working again (see above). The pump shuts down as specified; It takes about 1 bottle of beer for the SUP to reach a usable pump. The pump with the included Leafield adapter from the SUP manufacturer cost 4 times more than this Serene Life SLPUMP10 so it was worth changing the adapter.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Not sure
