Review on πŸ”’ Schlage BE375 CAM 619 Touch Camelot Deadbolt Electronic Keyless Entry Lock, Satin Nickel - Pack of 1 by Chris Horton

Nice lock if you know what you're getting.

You should understand what you are getting when you buy this lock and if you match your expectations you will not be disappointed. This is an ANSI Class 2 lock with some known disadvantages. It doesn't have a hardened or reinforced bolt or, as far as I remember, a cone with a reinforced firing pin. This lock has some known disadvantages: 1.) if not adjusted properly, the easy-lock function, i.e. pressing the strike and then turning the handle to lick the bolt, will also work to open the bolt; When set correctly, this feature only blocks the lock and you must enter a code to unlock the lock. AND 2.) There is a security hole where there is a less than 1/8 inch smoke hole in the bottom left corner of the lock that allows direct access to the actuator. This vulnerability requires drilling a hole, a number of similar electronic leakers can be easily opened with a strong magnet with no evidence of tampering, at least drilling leaves traces of tampering/embedding. Everything speaks to a balanced expectation, it's a nice lock in both looks and function, it allows easy access to the location with a 4 digit pin and it offers a deadbolt lock which offers a measure of security compared to locked but active door locks . For most people, locks only keep honest people honest, and this lock does that well. It's not Abloy Protec2, Medeco or Mul-T-Loc, but if you live up to your expectations and know what you're getting you won't be disappointed. I recommend them to people and install them for people while disclosing the above because anyway there is enough security for most. And in reality, block manipulation and/or bypassing is not a threat to most; In the US, the most common attacks are people not locking their doors and brute force attacks. This lock is handy enough to stop the former, and aside from reinforced doors, jams, and ANSI 1 hardware, a few locks in boxes stop the latter.
