Review on ๐Ÿš— Enhance Ride Quality with Monroe 34760 Gas-Magnum Truck Shock Absorber by Rodrigo Harrison

Revainrating 3 out of 5

good performance but poor design for installation

I was very happy to upgrade the shock absorbers on my Ford e-150. I was told that gas shocks would make a big difference versus stocks. I love the fact that the Monroes are made in the USA and I would say the ride quality is better. The negative, as many others have said, is that while I see it as a quality shock, replacing hardware in the stress of work almost seems like a joke. Also, and this is an important factor for the top of the shock, this is the nut that is welded to the shock itself. You should have used this nut to tighten the top of the OEM shock. This is a good wide nut. that you can easily install a spare wrench but the nut is nowhere near as wide as a regular wrench and the world isn't clean so you can't get a wrench to tighten the new one and if you do it with wedges underneath the new equipment.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Empty
