IMPRESSIVE OUT OF THE BOX!

The IC was packaged very tightly with molded foam ends that did not allow movement in the box. Also, the chip was sealed in high-density plastic by the manufacturers. You can tell a lot about a company by how it packages its product. Mishimoto is a very professional organization (check out their YouTube video) and obviously take great pride in every product they sell. The IC is a superior design with one-piece molded ends (per OEM specs) that are part of the IC body. It looks like the entire IC was cast from a single piece of aluminum! Welds are strong, no fraying or missing overlaps were found. All of the cooling fins between the rod and the plates were intact, ie none were bent. It's a hefty IC at just over 20 pounds, but I'm pretty sure that's due to the high density of the aluminum core, which efficiently keeps the air cool. Looks easy to install. If you have a lift! They require a lot of work space to throw away and replace. I am considering installing it professionally. As soon as I connected to my Cobb AccessPort, I report a performance boost! Don F. (US Ranger, Ret.) Installed last weekend. I wasn't scared (after learning how to install it on YouTube 20 times!). Took me about 2.5 hours just because I'm using bushings that don't leave much room to work and I really wanted to take my time to ensure the perfect fit. There is absolutely no need to modify the frontend. The chip fits like a glove! After flashing the ECU with Cobb AccessPort to reflect the updated FMIC, I went for a test drive. Age. I'm proud to say I created the beast on my 335i! Haven't tested it yet but my mechanic says I'm developing around 375-380 hp! I love this intercooler! Thank you Mishimoto! Don F. (Retired US Ranger)
