Exactly what I wanted. I don't make jewelry so I wouldn't use this every day. However, I have three rings that are very dear to me because they belonged to my mother. Because they are too big for my fingers, they are constantly "deformed" or distorted and lose their shape. Instead of round rings, I have oval rings that protrude too much on either side of my finger. I hate it, but my local jewelers do expensive repairs every week. I bought this size and a small rubber mallet and very gently tapped each of my rings to make perfect circles and then added a small plastic spiral ring to reduce the size. Now they are perfect and (so far) last more than a week daily without resizing. The spike is VERY heavy; in a pinch, it could also be used for self-defense.
