Review on Borosilicate Glass Platform for Creality: 310x310x4mm by Josh Sharp

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This eliminates adhesion problems.

My Tenlog was my second (but almost equal to my first) 3D printer and it was a learning experience. I like the mirror mode, but the constant sticking issues with the base glass platform made me tired. it takes tons of hairspray. I chose borosilicate because it was recommended in the 3D printing courses I started with. The layers of glass help smooth out uneven build plates, and the thermal expansion properties of borosilicate are very good at preventing the plastic from warping. It heats up very quickly, but expands little. No problem with prints that don't stick when printed and just slide off once it gets cold (which was great for me, I hit myself with a spatula once trying to remove a model before changing beds ). The bed is simple, I show you in my video, you just change the glass, then you get up and type right away. The best upgrade I've ever made to any of my 3D printers. After trying this one, I ordered new glass beds for others as well. I still print pla at 60, I also tried 65 and it worked, but I didn't see any difference between the two temperatures. One thing strikes me - this bed seems a lot hotter to me than the plain glass bed. So keep that in mind when you touch it.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
