Review on ⚡ Enhanced Attwood 14230-3 Single Pole 4-Way Marine Battery Selector Switch by Antonio Baker

Studs were loose when exercising

I bought 2. I noticed the cleat was spinning when I put the first one on. After a few months I had to fiddle with the handle to start the boat. When I replaced it over the winter, I found two bolts were loose. I figured I might have overtightened it so I looked up the torque spec. I couldn't find one from Attwood so I used Blue Sea specs (120 in-lbs). The bolts didn't turn on the replacement switch so I'm guessing my first one was assembled on a Friday. If the bolt rotates during installation, it will have poor contact with the brass plate. I recommend removing 4 screws and bolts and then adding Loctite to each bolt. You can try a star or lock washer, but I was concerned about galvanic corrosion. I took the old derailleur apart, tightened the bolts to 140 pounds with Loctite and gave it to my brother for his boat. I think most people's problems with intermittent power supply or melted connectors could be due to loose bolts.
